Grassroots Initiative

Our Volunteering Program

Global Compassion Foundation is a grassroots community initiative based in Tuichawng Village, Mizoram, Northeast India, working to support underserved Chakma tribal children through education, mentorship, and community-based learning programs.

Founded by local educators and community members, the initiative was created after witnessing the educational challenges faced by children in remote rural areas, where access to quality learning opportunities, English-speaking environments, and educational resources remains limited.

How We Make A Difference

Empowering remote indigenous communities through targeted educational and cultural support.

Global Compassion Academy

Through this initiative, we currently organize small educational support activities, after-school learning sessions, English practice programs, mentorship, and community engagement efforts aimed at encouraging children to continue their education with confidence and hope.

Our Long-Term Vision

Our vision is to gradually establish a value-based nonprofit educational center that promotes inclusive learning, compassion, cultural respect, and equal educational opportunities for children from marginalized communities.

Global Community Welcome

We welcome volunteers, educators, students, professionals, and compassionate individuals from around the world who wish to contribute through teaching, mentorship, fundraising, storytelling, content creation, or community support.

Grassroots Philosophy

As a small grassroots initiative, we deeply value transparency, humility, ethical service, and meaningful human connection. We believe that even small acts of kindness and collective effort can create lasting positive change.

"Volunteering with GCF in the Sajek Valley was a life-changing experience. We worked alongside the Chakma Council of Elders to map out gravity pipelines. The community's energy, warm hospitality, and the absolute joy when clean water flowed into the village is something I will never forget."

Volunteer FAQ

Have questions? Here are the most common things people ask before applying.

No, we match you with projects based on your skills. While professional backgrounds in teaching, nursing, or engineering are highly valuable, we also have plenty of opportunities in reforestation nurseries and logistics support.
Placement durations are flexible, ranging from short-term field campaigns (2 weeks) to long-term community integrations (1 to 3 months). We list specific details during the skills mapping stage.
Volunteers reside in secure local guest rooms or shared community houses arranged by GCF coordinators and village elders. Clean meals, clean drinking water, and standard lodgings are fully provided.
Volunteers are responsible for their transit to the nearest municipal hub (e.g. transit regional centers). From there, GCF coordinates all transport to deep forest sites and remote valley sectors.
