In the isolated hills of Mizoram, pursuing university studies is a privilege few can afford. Through the Global Compassion Foundation, dedicated global sponsors support promising tribal students from Class 11 all the way to graduation, enabling them to study at recognized colleges and build meaningful careers.
Sanjoy Jyoti Chakma
Sanjoy Jyoti Chakma comes from Nunsury-II village and has faced significant challenges in his pursuit of education. After completing Class 10, Sanjoy’s home circumstances made it difficult for him to continue. But through the support of Global Compassion Foundation, he was matched with a generous sponsor from Australia who believed in his potential and began supporting his education from Class 11 onward.
Today, Sanjoy is pursuing his Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) — Second Semester at North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM), a well-established higher education institution in Guwahati, Assam. Without the compassion and support of his sponsor, continuing his education to this level would have been nearly impossible.

The North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) is known for offering quality management, IT, and social science courses. Affiliated with recognized universities, approved by key Indian educational boards, it holds notable rankings including a Top-150 national placement position and excellence ratings by GHRDC.
Angel Chakma
Angel Chakma faced one of the toughest moments a young student can face. After passing Class 10, his father passed away, leaving his mother alone and struggling to support the family. With no means to afford further education, Angel was forced to consider stopping his studies — a fate too many children in similar circumstances experience.
In that difficult time, his mother reached out to Global Compassion Foundation for help. Through the kindness of others, we found a generous sponsor from Australia who agreed to support Angel’s education starting from Class 11.
Because of this sponsorship, Angel is now continuing his dreams. He is currently studying B.Sc. in Agriculture — 4th Semester at Assam down town University. Angel is a hardworking, bright, and dedicated student who is making the most of this opportunity to build a career that can impact farming communities.

Assam down town University (AdtU) is NAAC A+ accredited, making it one of the highest graded private institutions in Northeast India. It is recognized for its quality academics and research, holding a position in the 101-125 band in the national NIRF rankings for pharmacy and core subjects.
Jagat Jyoti Chakma
Jagat Jyoti Chakma is from Thegaduor village, located near the Bangladesh border. He comes from a family facing significant financial hardship. Although both his father and mother work hard, the family’s sole income comes from selling vegetables, which has made it extremely difficult to afford the costs associated with higher education.
Jagat has always been a brilliant, obedient, and energetic student with a strong determination to succeed academically. After completing Class 10, he was at serious risk of having to discontinue his studies due to financial constraints. At that critical time, GCF secured a sponsor from the United States who funded his education starting from Class 11.
As a result of this support, Jagat continued his academic journey and is now in his final year of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at The ICFAI University, Mizoram. He has demonstrated commitment and leadership, and now aspires to pursue an MBA.
